My firend is an elderly woman who has had a very hard life. Her husband of over 35 years passed away 2 years ago, leaving her alone and financially destroyed after a battle with cancer. She is currently only recieving his SS., but no veteran's benefits, etc. She can pay her rent, but nothing else....
